Today was a busy one at BrainStation. I only had time to walk to and from work (8km). I did visit Fuel Training Club with Duncan. Both Dunca and I, as well as our roommate Jamie, are going to sign up. It's more convenient for us because it's on the way to work.
After work, Alex and I headed to an interesting Facebook event on social design by Sachin Monga.Mmany examples tied in the organization of the physical space. I find that this is very cool when creating for the digital space. What has worked best in what we know, the physical space, obviously would work best in what we design for the digital space as well. What happens as we spend more time in the digital space? Are we then inspired to create based on what worked previously in the digital space in previous years? As this evolves then will we be more inclined to side with what was successful in the digital space over the physical? Have you seen Wall-E? Great kids movie, but also an incredible message.
After that we walked over to Hackernest, there were over 200 people there from diverse backgrounds but with a general interest in technology...and beer. The theme was women in technology and many inspiring ladies were featured and gave great speeches. I was most blown away by a very cool presentation by Leila Boujnane, she is the CEO of Tin Eye - a reverse image search. Check it out!
